Freebies

I'm going to list and explain the freebies and include links to them, which will take you to my Google Drive site.  You can download them there.  Also, on the home page, there is a link that will take you to my freebies.

1. 4. Back-to-School PowerPoint: You can use this PowerPoint to introduce yourself and your class procedures for Back-to-School night.

2. Power Writing Journal Cover and Record Sheet: Power writing is an activity to get students to increase their writing fluency.  You can do it daily or a few times a week.  What you do is choose a topic for the kids to write about.  Write the topic on the board.  Then brainstorm with the kids to come up with a word box to get them thinking.  They can use the word box during their writing.  Then give them 1 minute to write as much as they can.  When the minute is up, have them count their words and record it on the record sheet.  *Hint: Increase their writing time gradually in order to boost their confidence when their word count increases. I made journals for the kids using a big piece of construction paper.  Then I glued the journal cover on top.  The students then get the record sheet and a stapled pack of notebook paper for their writing.

3. Journal Covers: You can use these to label your student journals.  Here are some samples of the covers.
